His past sportive achievements include licensed rowing and mountaineering as well as Japanese sword martial arts Ken Jutsu (Shindō Musō-ryū)
In 2016, He helped found and then subsequently served as the president of the Association of Historical Martial Arts for 3 terms, helped organize various events, training and promotion activities and seminars on HEMA and historical martial arts and historical swordsmanship and invited various international Masters and Instructors to Turkey.
He left the position of Association president in 2019 to further focus on his HEMA studies as a unique multidisciplinary endeavour combining martial arts, competitive sports and academic research into one.
Had the fortune and honour of working with various contemporary Masters and Instructors such as Tom Outwin, Devon Boorman and Miroslav Lesichkov.
His current studies are focused on foreign manuscripts that form the basis of HEMA research and he endeavours to translate these historical texts into Turkish.
As an active HEMA fighter, he actively participates in various international HEMA tournaments, seminars and events.
