“La Verdadera Destreza is a system of swordsmanship intended to be a universal method of fighting, applicable to all weapons in principle. In practice it is dedicated mainly to the rapier or the rapier combined with a defensive weapon such as a parrying dagger, a cloak or a buckler. The tradition centers on the works of two primary authors, Jerónimo Sánchez de Carranza (d. c. 1608) and the Maestro Mayor Luis Pacheco de Narváez (1570–1640).
The 2-day intensive hands-on workshop with Maestro Alberto Bomprezzi focuses on theoretical and practical aspects of the Spanish rapier taken from the works of Pacheco de Narváez, Francisco de Ettenhard y Abarca, Perez de Mendoza and Alvaro Guerra de la Vega.
